Common Pest FAQs

Coverage, products, scheduling, and what to expect on each visit.

What pests are covered with your seasonal pest control plan?

Our seasonal plan targets the most common household pests including ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, earwigs, and more. We tailor products and application timing to local conditions in Texas and Florida, and we include free re-service between visits if issues arise.

What does your 100% Satisfaction Guarantee include?

If pests return between scheduled visits, so do we—at no additional charge. If you’re not satisfied after we’ve had a reasonable chance to correct the issue, we’ll work with you to make it right. Email us with your concerns HERE .

Are your treatments safe for families and pets?

Absolutely. We employ integrated pest management (IPM) and offer family and pet-friendly treatment options. We specifically target pests and apply products with precision according to the label. As a precaution, ensure people and pets stay away from treated areas until the products have dried.

Do I need to be home for service?

For most exterior services, no. For interior service or specific issues, we’ll schedule a convenient time. If you can’t be home, we can often start with exterior treatment and arrange interior service if needed.

What if it rains after you treat my home?

Most modern products bond to surfaces quickly. Light rain after an exterior application typically doesn’t reduce effectiveness. If heavy rain compromises a treatment, we’ll re-service at no charge.

Do I need to prepare my home before service?

Please clear access to treatment areas (baseboards, sinks, garages), put away pet bowls and toys, and secure pets. For kitchen or heavy infestations, we may provide a short prep checklist.

Do you require long-term contracts?

No long-term contracts are required for most residential plans. You can cancel anytime; we simply ask for notice before your next scheduled service.

How do I get a quote?

Use our online form or call us. We’ll ask a few questions about your home and pest concerns and provide options. In some cases, we may recommend an on-site inspection for accuracy.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit/debit cards and offer convenient autopay through the customer portal.

How do you treat ant problems?

We identify the species, target nests, and use non-repellent products where appropriate so ants share treatments through the colony. We also address conducive conditions.

Do you treat German cockroaches?

Yes. We use a combination of baits, targeted applications, and sanitation guidance. Heavier infestations may require multiple follow-ups for best results.

Will treatments get rid of spiders?

We reduce spiders by targeting harborage and the insects they feed on. We also remove accessible webs as part of service.

Can you help with silverfish?

Yes—through targeted interior treatments, dehumidification recommendations, and sealing paper/cloth storage areas.

Do you treat fleas and ticks?

Yes. We treat indoor and outdoor areas and provide a prep checklist. Coordinated pet treatment through your veterinarian is important for success.

Do you offer fire ant control?

We offer broadcast and mound treatments, plus recommendations to prevent reinfestation. Seasonal follow-ups help keep activity down.

Can you remove wasp nests?

Yes. We treat the nest, remove what’s safely accessible, and apply residual protection to prevent immediate rebuilding.

Do you treat bed bugs?

We offer targeted bed bug solutions in select service areas. An inspection is required to confirm activity and recommend the best treatment approach.

How do cockroaches get into my home?

Cockroaches enter through gaps around doors, plumbing lines, and vents—or by hitchhiking in grocery bags, boxes, and used appliances. Sealing entry points and keeping areas clean helps prevent infestations.

Are cockroaches dangerous?

Yes. Roaches can carry bacteria that contaminate food and surfaces, triggering allergies and asthma in sensitive individuals. Prompt professional treatment reduces these health risks.

Can I spray store-bought products before my appointment?

It’s best not to. Over-the-counter sprays can repel roaches and interfere with our professional baits. Wait until after your treatment plan is complete.

How long until I stop seeing cockroaches after treatment?

You may notice activity for a couple of weeks as roaches emerge and contact the treated areas. This is normal. Populations steadily decline as the products take effect.

What can I do to prevent cockroaches in the future?

Keep food sealed, promptly clean up spills, and reduce clutter. Repair plumbing leaks and store pet food in sealed containers. Regular service with Green Team Pest provides lasting protection.

How do I know if I have German cockroaches or just regular ones?

German cockroaches are smaller—usually about ½ inch long—with light brown or tan coloring and two dark parallel stripes just behind the head. They’re almost always found indoors, especially in kitchens and bathrooms. Other cockroach speci

es, like American or Oriental roaches, are larger and often come from outside or drains. If you’re seeing small, fast roaches concentrated in warm areas near food or moisture, they’re likely German roaches—contact us to confirm and treat properly.

Why are German cockroaches so hard to eliminate?

German roaches reproduce quickly and hide in tight, warm spaces like behind refrigerators and under sinks. Professional baiting and growth regulators target all life stages for complete control.

Do I need to leave during a German cockroach treatment?

Yes. People and pets should leave during service and remain out for about 2–4 hours until products have dried and it’s safe to return.

Can cleaning too soon affect my treatment?

Yes. Avoid wiping baseboards or baited areas for at least two weeks. You can clean countertops and food-prep areas carefully, but don’t disrupt treated zones.

Will I see more roaches right after service?

Possibly. Activity may increase briefly as the insects move around and encounter bait. This is expected and shows the treatment is working.

How soon will follow-up treatments happen?

Usually within 2–3 weeks. Follow-ups ensure egg cycles are broken and bait remains active where roaches were previously hiding.

Why do I still see fleas after my home was treated?

Fleas have multiple life stages. After treatment, new adults may emerge for up to two weeks before coming into contact with the residual product. Continued vacuuming helps speed this process.

Do I need to treat my pets too?

Absolutely. Professional pet treatment through your veterinarian is essential—otherwise fleas will continue reproducing. Treat pets the same day as your home service if possible.

How often should I vacuum after treatment?

Vacuum daily for 10–14 days to remove eggs and larvae and to encourage fleas to contact treated surfaces. Dispose of vacuum contents outside.

Is flea treatment safe for children and pets?

Yes. Once the products are dry—typically after 2–4 hours—it’s safe to re-enter. All Green Team Pest products are EPA-registered and applied according to strict safety standards.

Will one treatment completely eliminate fleas?

Usually, one or two visits are needed depending on the level of infestation. Your technician will recommend follow-ups if activity persists.

Where do ticks usually come from?

Ticks often enter yards via wildlife such as raccoons, squirrels, or deer. They hide in tall grass, leaf litter, and shaded areas where pets or people can pick them up.

Can ticks live indoors?

Some species can survive indoors temporarily, especially if pets bring them in. Routine vacuuming and prompt treatment prevent reproduction inside.

How does a tick treatment work?

We apply targeted residual products to lawns, shrubs, and shaded harborage areas where ticks rest and breed. Treatments reduce adult and nymph populations dramatically.

How long after treatment can pets or kids use the yard?

Keep people and pets off treated areas until the product is completely dry—usually 1–2 hours.

You've acquired my pest control company, will my price change?

In most cases, you’ll find that our pricing is very competitive and often equal to or even lower than what you were paying before. If there is any increase, it’s because your service now includes a higher level of protection, upgraded products, and more consistent scheduling through Green Team Pest & Mosquito. We do typically move all recurring customers to convenient monthly billing to make service and budgeting easier.

Proactive, Not Just Reactive

We seal, treat, and monitor—targeting nests, trails, and moisture conditions so problems don’t return.
