Preparation Guide for German Cockroach Treatment
Important steps to ensure your German cockroach treatment is effective.
German cockroaches are persistent indoor pests. Professional treatment works best when paired with proper preparation. Please complete the steps below before your appointment to help ensure long‑term results and minimize re‑infestation risk.
Why Preparation Matters
Professional pest control treatments work best when paired with proper preparation. Following these steps helps your technician target pest harborage areas effectively and ensures long-term success.
Before the Treatment
• Clean and declutter kitchens and bathrooms; remove crumbs, grease, and debris from counters, sinks, floors, and appliances.
• Store all food in sealed containers; empty trash and fix any plumbing leaks.
• Remove items from treatable kitchen/bath cabinets and drawers; bag and move them to a non‑treatment area.
• Vacuum cracks/crevices and under/behind appliances; wipe down surfaces and vacuum crumbs.
• Put away personal items (e.g., toothbrushes, grooming tools, consumables). Cover aquariums and turn off air pumps.
• Remove pets from the home during service and for 2–4 hours after.
During the Treatment
• Technicians apply targeted gel baits, insect growth regulators, and residual insecticides in strategic areas.
• Do not disturb bait placements or apply cleaners/sprays that could interfere.
• Stay out of treated areas until re‑entry is allowed (typically 2–4 hours).
After the Treatment
• Do not wipe treated baseboards, cracks, or bait placements for at least 2 weeks; clean food‑prep surfaces only as needed.
• Expect to see roaches for a few weeks as they contact bait/materials; short‑term increased activity is normal.
• Continue to reduce food and water access; promptly wipe spills and repair leaks.
• Follow‑up treatment may be scheduled in 2–3 weeks; tell us if activity persists or increases.
